Language and Mode of Education in Japan

Japanese
This is definitely the authentic language of Japanese and it is classified into 3 different types of writing styles. The different types of writing styles are Kanji, Hiragana and Katakana. The style of these writing is of great differences, ranging from Chinese characters to cursive writing styles. Japanese take great pride in their language and feel superior as compared to the other languages in the world. This is one of the reason why Japanese rejects taking up a foreign language and they see no need for it.

Ainu
Another language that is being spoken in Japan is basically Ainu and it can be heard from area like Hokkaido where the Ainu people settles in. The Ainu language can be heard from the elderly of the Ainu tribes.

Chinese
Some people staying in Japan speaks Chinese as Japan has trading with China since the ancient era. Some of the people from China may be living in Japan now and therefore, it help spreads the Chinese languages over Japan.

English
Most of the modern Japanese can speak English in the 20th century but they are usually not very fluent in it. They are able to speak the fundamentals of English but have difficulty communicating with foreigners as they are too used to the Japanese slang. Some of the words may be mispronounced and the tone are different from the Westerners.

Ryukyuan
Ryukyuan is another form of language spoken in modern Japan and it is usually spoken by the Ryukyuan group of people located in Kyushu. It is a form of dialect but the ability to be able to hear it are becoming rare as the kingdom do not really like strangers especially foreign males.

Mode of education
One of the priorities of Japan’s policy is the education. The government aims to achieve high success in its education system in the 19th century. Japan now, has one of the top-notch education systems and is one of the countries that have the highest number of people being able to read. Japanese school starts during April of the year and the study period are actually quite relaxed as they have 2 short breaks and 1 vacation during summer. There are quite a few recognized universities in Japan and they are the University of Tokyo and the University of Kyoto. The education system of Japan is very much alike to the ones in Singapore or other European countries. They have to go through basically Kindergarten, Primary Education, Lower secondary and Upper Secondary education and University. One of the difference they had compared to Singapore is that the Tertiary education in Singapore is replaced with Upper Secondary education in Japan.
