Cutlure in Japan

As Singaporeans, we all know Japan for a country that invaded us during World War II. Keep aside of the harsh and cruel memories, Japan is actually a scenic and a country strong in their heritage and culture. There is basically many different periods which Japan undergoes. Within these periods, it usually consists of centuries and different types of ruling methods which Japan is under from. Japan undergoes a massive tussle with many countries in both the world war. Therefore, you can expect many unique sophistication and customs in Japan.

Samurais

One of the renowned aspects of their culture is actually the Samurai. Samurais prove as a significance of ancient warriors in the pre-industrialized Japan. In the past, Samurais were considered as a significant individual and were perceived as highly cultured and literate. The sword is considered very priceless and of great value to the Samurai warrior and if they misplaced it, they would then give up their own life to minimize their shame.

Judo
Judo was a form of Japanese martial arts which evolved from Jujitso, which is a specialty of martial arts in the Samurai era. After the period of the Samurais fall, Jujitso almost extinguished until a young man named Jigoro Kano revived the passion for it. When he was 21 years old, he had the best of Jujitsu and created a new single school and this marks the birth of Judo, the modern martial arts today.
