Conclusion-Disney

Spot the “Disney” in the modern society of the city or country of your choice of study

By analyzing through the Disney article, Japan does have signs of disneyization of their societies as there is a trend of Japanese preferring to eat out like having steamboats in restaurants. Due to the globalization of the world, the Japanese also have higher expectations and demand for their social trends. Also, the female Japanese youths are now increasing more of their frequencies of visits to the shopping malls. As stated from the Google EBooks, Japanese females also are working out in the gym more often and are now learning to exercise through television programs.

Analyze the changes that have been brought about by the growth of tourism in the country

The growth of tourism in Japan has brought in tremendous changes to the country. There are numerous changes that have been brought into Japan since the growth of tourism. One of the changes will be the increase in the economy of Japan due to the high influx of foreigners and increase in spending. It will definitely help as Japan is normally facing the problem of high inflation. The locals do not really spend their income unless necessary and despite several government putting in money attempting to encourage the locals to spend, they prefer to save their salary and this results in a bad flow of income in the economy. By having more tourists coming into Japan, it helps minimize the problem of inflation and boost the economy of Japan.

Another changes that the growth of tourism brought into Japan is the preservations of cultural and heritage sites. By promoting Japan as a tourism destination, the government of Japan will definitely preserve and sustain more of the historic infrastructures in the country. By doing so, the culture and traditions of Japan will be able to pass on to the next generation.

There will also be more opportunities to technological advancements and investments in Japan due to the growth of tourism. It will bring in foreign infrastructures and corporations to Japan, aiding in both economic and social of bonding the world closer.

Comment on whether tourism has been a culprit in commodifying cultures and traditions?

It is sometimes contradicting to invite the foreigners into the country as it will also means that the culture of the destination will be polluted with the mix of foreign habits and their culture. This means that in another century to go, Japan may become a country which will be a lookalike to other European countries.

Many of the places and buildings in Japan are now becoming similar to the styles of the European countries, which is a sign of Japan adapting to the culture of the westerners.

Conclusion

It is sometimes difficult trying to sustain the cultural destination and yet bring in the high flow of tourists into Japan. However, if they manage to preserve the heritage sites and infrastructures, it would mean that the government is successful in this factor.. Japan would thereby be able to keep it's historical monuments and maintain it's inflow of cultural tourists for a long time.
